Genshin Impact has become incredibly popular and now has a player base of over one million users. Part of the open-world game’s appeal is a bevy of engaging features that will keep the players active. With such a massive inflow of new players, many of them are looking for methods to make headway through this game and explore its possibilities.
To that end, players complete all sorts of activities to earn two types of experience points: Adventure Rank and character level-up points. These two systems go hand in hand, and the faster you raise them, the greater the area you can explore in the game.
In this entry, you’ll see several ways you can level up in Genshin Impact.
What Are Some of the Fastest Ways to Level Up Characters in Genshin Impact?
You can level up your characters in Genshin Impact quickly in a variety of ways:
1. Follow the Storyline
The classic and most obvious way of leveling up in Genshin Impact is by completing your quests. It’s also one of the most thrilling methods to increase both your individual level and Adventure Rank (AR). In most cases, you’ll earn more than one hundred Adventure experience points by finishing quests. This alone takes some time, but it does help significantly.
You can’t repeat your quests once you’ve completed them either, and the chances are that you’ll run out of quests if you’re not doing anything else.
Still, they typically come with fascinating storylines and tasks. Therefore, quests will help you level up and provide you with entertaining experiences along the way.
2. Complete Commissions
This might be the easiest way to earn a large number of Adventure points without investing too much of your time. Finishing Daily Commissions issued by the organization called Adventurer’s Guild can earn you experience (EXP) easier than completing main or side quests.
Once you’ve gone to Mondstadt and spoken to Katheryne, you’ll receive your Adventurer’s Handbook which can be accessed by pressing the “F1” key on your keyboard. Under the Handbook’s second tab, you’ll find the “Commissions” section.
Every day, you’ll be able to complete “four commissions” all around the map. If you’ve already unlocked many of your Teleport Waypoints, getting to locations will be far simpler. The commissions have you perform various tasks, such as gathering ingredients, cooking meals, or defeating different enemies.
The tasks are simple and worthwhile since each of them earns you 200 Adventure experience points. You’ll gain 500 more points if you finish all four quests. When you consider the little effort it takes to complete commissions, they are a great level boost compared to some other methods.
3. Clear Domains
You can get a good amount of ranking points by completing domains. The amount of experience you receive through domains varies, so be sure to go through the bounties from the Adventurer’s Handbook beforehand.
The first one-time Domain is available when you reach level 12. They are an excellent place to start because they can earn you up to 500 Adventure experience points. But as the Domains’ name suggests, the reward can be obtained only once.
That’s why recurring Domains are more compensating for the farming experience. The first such Domain is Cecilia Garden, and you can access it when you hit level 16. Each time you finish the Domain, up to 100 experience points may be coming your way. This can be a bit time-consuming, but Domains come with many other rewards aside from experience points.
4. Defeat Bosses
If Commissions become too repetitive or you’ve completed them all for one day, it’s a great idea to switch to boss hunting. Browse through the “Bosses” section from the Adventure Handbook to find one that earns you Adventure experience points.
For example, hunting a Ley Line Outcrop boss in Mondstadt is a wise decision, especially for newcomers to the game. It’s a low-level unit, and defeating it may give you 100 ranking points. If you’ve progressed further into the game, go for elite and weekly bosses that reward you with 200 and 300 points, respectively.
One of the best things about defeating bosses is the ability to do it repeatedly, provided you have enough Original Resin to acquire the rewards. A Ley Line Outcrop boss requires 20 Resin, and it will re-spawn in the nearby area. If you consume 120 Original Resin defeating these bosses, you may grab up to 600 experience points.
5. Complete Experience Tasks from the Adventurer’s Handbook
Like quests, completing Adventurer’s Handbook experience tasks is a one-time method of leveling up. The good news is that the rewards are substantial and don’t require you to invest much of your time. They are also very straightforward, and even novice players won’t have a hard time finishing them.
These tasks are categorized according to “Chapters.” Only when you complete all your experience tasks from one Chapter can you move on to the next. As you progress further and further, the amount of experience you receive from the tasks increases.
6. Exploring the Map
Roaming the map is an old-fashioned means of gathering experience points. You can discover many different objects for some adventure EXP, such as “Teleport Waypoints” or “Statues of the Seven.” Moreover, you can look for “Geoculus” or “Anemoculs” orbs and offer them to the statues for even more ranking points. While this isn’t a fast way of leveling up, exploring the wonders of the map certainly brings a lot of fun.
7. Harness Materials
Last but not least, harnessing materials found all around Teyvat will rake in a tremendous amount of experience points. The following three items are located in treasure chests and are usually earned as a reward for completing quests and domains:
- Wanderer’s Advice – 1,000 points
- Adventurer’s experience – 5,000 points
- Hero’s Wit – 20,000 points
Another way of farming the Adventurer’s Experience is to activate Outcrops for Blossoms of Revelation scattered across the game’s world. These are blue balls that spawn in several locations. Once activated, they’ll generate several enemies you need to defeat. Afterward, you get to claim your reward of about 13 points of Adventurer’s Experience.
Upon collecting materials, you need to press “level up” that appears on your character’s screen to activate them. After they’ve reached certain levels, you’ll need to ascend them with materials obtained from various bosses to level up even higher.
Don’t forget that leveling up your character with these materials requires Mora (Genshin’s all-purpose coinage). You can earn lots of it by leveling up more characters, but even more Mora is up for grabs if you can take on Blossom of Wealth Ley Line Outcrops.
Genshin Impact Character Level-Up FAQs
What are the best characters to level up?
The characters you should focus on to make the most of your experience-gathering efforts are:
• Five-star characters: If you’ve managed to receive one of these units at the early stages of the game, do your best to level them up. They come with powerful special abilities and stats that make them sought after. Such units include Mona, Klee, Diluc, and Venti.
• Custom character: The character you start your game with is also a great option. While players don’t require them in their parties, they do appear for certain cutscenes and story segments, which amount to a long time spent in the storyline. While having this character as part of your party is optional, leveling them up is an excellent way of getting the hang of the game.
• Noelle: This is a defensive character that possesses the “Earth” ability. She’s a terrific choice because her ability lets her transfer a shield to the character you select. While she moves slowly, her overall capabilities are quite powerful.
What Is the level cap?
Until you reach Adventure Rank (AR) 15, your character’s cap will be level 20. As you climb the Adventure Rankings, the cap increases:
• AR 15 – Level cap jumps to 40
• AR 25 – Level cap jumps to 50
• AR 30 – Level cap jumps to 60
• AR 35 – Level cap jumps to 70
• AR 40 – Level cap jumps to 80
• AR 45 – Level cap jumps to 90
What are some of the benefits of leveling up?
The main benefits of leveling up your character come down to increasing the stats. In particular, as your units attain higher levels, their attack, defense, and HP increase. With empowered attacks, you’ll deal more damage and eliminate your enemies much faster. You’ll be able to endure more attacks due to more HP and greater defense abilities.
