Stop Chrome Notifications on Android

If you’re one of the many who use the Chrome browser on Android and find its notifications bothersome, you can quickly turn off the option. You’ll no longer get those pesky notifications with just a few changes to your Chrome settings. Here’s how to do it.

Launch the “Chrome app” on your Android, then tap the “Three vertical dots” icon in the upper-right corner.
From the drop-down menu, choose “Settings.”
Locate and press “Notifications.”
To stop all notifications, toggle “Show notifications” off.
To manage which notifications you receive, toggle the switch to the on position.

Those who use the Chrome browser on an iPhone will not receive website notifications. However, you may have that feature enabled if you get the occasional pop-up. Fortunately, there’s a quick solution. To turn them off, follow the instructions below.

Launch the “Chrome app” on your iPhone.
Tap the “Gear” icon to access settings.
Select “Content Settings.”
Enable “Block Pop-ups” to prevent new ones from appearing.

On Windows 11, if you find Chrome notifications too distracting, you can easily disable them. All you need to do is make a few adjustments to Chrome’s settings. Neither time-consuming nor difficult, you can get Chrome to work how you want. Here’s all you need to do.

Launch “Chrome” and tap the “Three dots” icon in the top-right-hand corner of the screen.
Using the drop-down window, click on “Settings.”
Choose “Privacy and security” within the left-pane menu.
Click “Site settings.”
Scroll down to the “Permissions” section and click “Notifications.”
Select “Don’t allow sites to send notifications.”
You also have the option to choose “Use quieter notifications” if desired. You can scroll down and manage which websites can still send notifications.

Some Mac users don’t like the distraction of Chrome notifications. Although it’s meant to be helpful, they can be bothersome. Thankfully, there’s a solution, and these notifications can be turned off with a quick change to your Chrome settings. Here’s what you’ll need to do to turn off Chrome notifications.

Open “Chrome” on your Mac and click the “Three dots” icon in the screen’s upper-right corner.
Using the drop-down menu, tap on “Settings.”
A new browser window will open. From the left-pane menu, pick “Privacy and security.”
Select “Site Settings.”
Scroll down to “Permissions” and click the “Notifications” option. To stop all Chrome notifications, tap the button next to “Don’t allow sites to send notifications.”
