Bowser isn’t all alone this time. There are four Bowser variants you will encounter throughout the game:

- Robot Bowser – This one is a giant, immobile robot version of Bowser you find during the Flupp-Puff Peaks Flying Battle Ship segment. This battle is more about maneuvering the environment and outsmarting the mechanical monster.

Cosmic Mario
The next foe you’ll face is Cosmic Mario. Perhaps not a name you’ve been expecting, but he’s back from Super Mario Galaxy. Just like in Galaxy, he appears at the start of a level and floats to get you. He moves as fast as Mario, mirroring your moves with a slight delay.
Leaping Smackerel
Leaping Smackerel is a new face in the Mario universe, not an alternative to an existing character. This boss lives in the Petal Isles and has a big bite. The giant fish bites around the stage and can catch you at any point, helped by its colossal size. It can burrow into the terrain and come out from anywhere. Stay alert and be ready to move at a moment’s notice.
King Boo
Here’s another king of the classics – King Boo. The quirky ghost floats back into the scene with his usual spooky flair. When you’re in his spooky realm—the Light Switch Mansion—you’ll need to use the environment to your advantage as the lights turn on and off in tune with the music.
Stone Spike
Stone Spike will stand imposingly in the background and shoot fiery rocks your way to knock you out. Dodging the flying rocks is the core part of this battle, and they get bigger as it progresses. You will encounter him as you ride the waves of the magma tube, which means that the barrage of fireballs around you won’t play in your favor.
How to Defeat Super Mario Bros. Wonder Bosses
Being advanced enemies, each boss in Super Mario Bros Wonder has to be tackled differently to defeat. Here’s a quick strategy guide:
Bowser Jr.
This is a foe you’ll be facing off the most, a whole four times. To beat Bowser Jr., pay attention to the elements of each stage. Use the environment to your advantage – jump on platforms, dodge obstacles, and strike when he’s vulnerable. Try using a badge that boosts your movement, like Floating High Jump or Boosting Jump Spin. They will make it easier to dodge his attacks and get in a good hit. Each level is different, so pick a badge that suits the terrain.
Robot Bowser
For Robot Bowser, focus on avoiding hazards and look for environmental clues to outsmart this mechanical giant. Keep patient and observant.
Golden Bowser Statue
Keep moving, watch for patterns in its movements, and use the mansion’s layout to your advantage. Stay alert and be ready to dodge at a moment’s notice.
Castle Bowser
Facing Castle Bowser is the ultimate test. Combine everything you’ve learned – timing, dodging, strategic attacks. This final battle goes through multiple states. Early on, the floors move to the rhythm of the music. When you hear “Hey!” or see the arrows on the floor fill up, that’s your cue to jump. You need to hit the switch on his chin six times, with two hits in each phase. As the battle progresses, Bowser gets stronger, and more enemies appear on the stage. Keep an eye out for the switch on Bowser’s head after each phase.
Cosmic Mario
Cosmic Mario is a relentless pursuer that mimics your moves, so stay one step ahead. You lead, and he follows. Quick, agile movements and a bit of foresight will help you outmaneuver this starry foe. You need to be particularly careful when backtracking and avoid staying in one place for too long.
Leaping Smackerel
This boss can catch you off guard with its sudden leaps and dives. The trick is to stay on the move, keep an eye on its patterns, and stay away from the sharp teeth. When the Smackerel is about to pounce from the terrain, you’ll see a mound of dirt bubbling up, meaning it’s time to dodge to the side.
King Boo
King Boo’s battle is a rhythmic chase. The lights turn on and off with the rhythm of the music, and he does not like a light in his face. Follow the patterns, and you’ll be able to outrun him.
Stone Spike
Stone Spike’s battle tests your endurance and dodging ability. His firey rocks get bigger as the fight progresses. But it’s a race against time, and if you survive without taking damage, you will win.
