If you want to sing along to your favorite songs on Spotify, but you don’t know the lyrics, don’t worry. Spotify lets you view the lyrics for almost all songs on this platform. Not only can you do this on the Spotify mobile app, but on the desktop app and TV app as well. What’s more, the Lyrics feature is available on both Free and Premium Spotify accounts.

How to View Lyrics in Spotify

In this article, we’ll show you how to view the lyrics of your favorite songs on Spotify across various devices.

How to View Spotify Lyrics in the iPhone App

Before, you had to go to YouTube if you wanted to sing the correct lines. Spotify now allows you to listen to your favorite music and view the lyrics at the same time.

Spotify is constantly trying to improve the user experience and come up with innovative, fun features. One of the newest features is the Lyrics section, which can be found under each song cover and music player. The Lyrics feature allows you to read the lyrics of each song in real time, improving your music streaming experience. This tool is also useful if you can’t figure out what the singer is saying and you just want to check.

The Lyrics feature is available for both Free and Premium accounts. Here’s how you can view the lyrics of a song on the Spotify iPhone app.

  1. Run the Spotify app on your iPhone.
  2. Choose a song you want to listen to, either on your home page or in “Your Library.”
  3. Tap on the song to play it.
  4. Go to the preview bar at the bottom of your screen.
  5. Drag the screen upwards.

The lyrics of that song will appear below the song cover and the music player. As the song plays, the lyrics will move by themselves, allowing you to view them in real time. You also have the option to view the lyrics on a full screen. To do this, simply tap on the “MORE” option in the top-left corner of the lyrics box.

Spotify also lets you share the lyrics on your Instagram Story or Facebook page. You can do this by tapping on the share icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen. Just select which lyrics you want to share by tapping on each line.

It’s worth mentioning that you can’t view the lyrics for a specific song until you play it. You also need to be online to view the lyrics unless you’re subscribed to the Premium package and have downloaded the song for offline streaming.

How to View Spotify Lyrics in the Android App

If you have an Android device, this is how you can view a song’s lyrics on Spotify.

  1. Launch the app on your Android device.
  2. Search for the song you want to play or find it in “Your Library” in the bottom-right corner.
  3. Tap on the song to play it.
  4. Select the “Now Playing” bar at the bottom of the screen.
  5. Swipe up from the bottom to the top of the screen.

Now you will be able to keep up with the lyrics and sing the song with no effort. You can also tap on the “MORE” option for a full-screen experience. When you want to switch to a new song, tap on the downward arrow in the top-left corner of the screen.

If the lyrics aren’t correct (which is uncommon, but it can happen sometimes), you can alert Spotify by tapping on the flag in the upper-right corner. From there, you can choose one of the following options: “Some lyrics are wrong,” “All the lyrics are wrong,” and “Lyrics not synched properly.”

That’s all there is to it. You can use these instructions for the desktop app as well. When you want to exit the lyrics screen, either click on the microphone icon again or navigate to the “<” arrow in the top-left corner of the web player.

The good news is that Spotify lyrics aren’t only available in English. You can view song lyrics in various other languages, such as Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, and more. However, since this feature is still somewhat new, it’s not available for all 70 million songs stored in Spotify’s library. So it’s possible that you won’t be able to view the lyrics for all the songs you want on Spotify. You’ll know that the lyrics aren’t available for a specific song if you tap on the “Now Playing” bar and you don’t see the “Lyrics” box at the bottom.
